MKR-Community Technology Learning Centre is a social
welfare project formed in collaboration of MKR Foundation
and Microsoft Corporation. It was established through a
formal MOU signing between MKRF and Microsoft on December
22, 2004.
MKR Foundation
aims towards empowering underserved communities through
skill training and capacity building programs.
To turn this
vision into reality MKRF joined hands with Microsoft to set
up its first Community Technology Learning Centre (CTLC),
which is a part of Microsoft's “ Partners in Learning &
Unlimited Potential Program ”.
CTLC is a technology based
educational institute that is dedicated to bridge the
digital divide by providing world standard Microsoft
Unlimited Potential courses to Media workers and
underprivileged communities.
CTLC is an institution for
people with no prior computer skills or knowledge, offering
various courses starting from the very basic all the way up
to the advance level. The centre remains dedicated to its
motto, ‘Growth, Development and Achievement'.
This provides
Media workers and their families the opportunity to seek
training on latest advancements in Information Communication
Technology – ICT tools, which hopes to reduce the digital
divide gap. It will also help reduce unemployment among
people and making them a productive part of our society.
